WordPress 2.6 Beta 1 is here. Testing the gallery function changes. Nice.

Another new feature is “revisions”. I’m testing that now by adding this text.

Not only am I using this blog site for WordPress updates, it’s also a pretty good place to try out themes and theme modifications. The one you see right now is called Zeke 1.0 from solostream.com

One of the things I like about this theme is that the first post will be the most recent post categorized as “Featured” like this one.

It’s here! The development team has released the newest stable version of WordPress — 2.5

The improvements in 2.5 are numerous, and almost entirely a result of your feedback: multi-file uploading, one-click plugin upgrades, built-in galleries, customizable dashboard, salted passwords and cookie encryption, media library, a WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code, concurrent post editing protection, full-screen writing, and search that covers posts and pages.

This is a test of the Gallery Feature with shortcode.

It was just two days ago that WordPress 2.5 RC2 was made available. Today we are checking out RC3. It looks like we’re getting close folks.

I know the developers have been working very hard to get 2.5 ready for release. I expect it to hit that milestone in another few days. In the meantime, I’ll keep checking things out here.

WordPress is quickly getting ready for release. Earlier today RC 2 was made available, and that is what you are seeing here. The logo was one I designed.

I am testing the file upload system for 2.5 RC1 (plus a SVN update or two). I finally got it to work. The issue was discussed in the forums.

Of course testing the image upload with a picture of Elisha Cuthbert is not a bad way to go.

WordPress 2.5 RC1 is now available and running on this blog. The full release should be available in the next few days. In the meantime, I’ll be playing around in here making sure there’s nothing in here that will break bRight & Early.
