When Rick Perry announced his run for the presidency, the speech included this line:

I will work every day to make Washington, D.C. as inconsequential in your lives as I can.”

That is a great goal. A Really Great Goal. Scott Rasmussen finds that 38% agree. 34% disagree, and 28% aren’t sure.

I don’t understand how anyone can believe that more government – or even the same bloated amount of government – can be a good thing.

There is a great article today at The Heritage Foundation that talks about the burden of government regulation, or what I call Stregulation, and Speaker Boehner’s call for a reduction in those regulations.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has projected an almost $1.3 trillion deficit for next year. Add in the unemployment numbers over 9% for months and you have bleak economic outlook for this and next year. This is not a good time to increase regulations – especially when the economy is in a need of a stimulating government policy like reducing regulations.
