He’s the symbol of the average guy, taking over the position formerly held by Joe Six-Pack. There are two main points to take away from his story.

First, Joe the Plumber has been treated to a left-wing colonoscopy sans-lube for the crime of asking a question of The One. The microscope his life has been placed under uses a degree of magnification several times that used to examine Obama’s history. (As an aside, I am dumbfounded regarding the total lack of scrutiny regarding the personal history of this presidential candidate.) The compliant press has put all the focus on Joe, while ignoring the actual story which was, and is, Obama’s redistributionist answer.

The second point is related. Joe the Plumber is me, us. The average, normal, working Americans who have no idea who Barack Obama really is, and even less of what he stands for. The image I’ve had of Obama since this campaign began is like those UPS ads that have some guy drawing on a white board, er, dry-erase board (wouldn’t want to be accused of using racist metaphors). Obama isn’t any one thing, he is a liquid conforming to the container shape of his current audience.

While The One and his supporters try to run Joe into the ground, I have to say that I am proud to be Joe.

I love it!

I’ve got a 12 yo daughter that wants to be Obama for Halloween.

When she knocks on the door instead of saying “trick or Treat” she’s gonna yell “SHARE THE WEALTH” and empty their bowl into her bag and tell them that SHE will “decide who gets the candy, and how much candy they get!”
