Tonight begins the Jack Bauer AR (After Red Hot) era. The gang at Blogs4Bauer will be liveblogging, of course.

The big question is, does Jack dissolve into a quivering end-of-Extreme-Home-Makeover blob, or does he reach deep down and find his inner Jack? I hope for the later, but fear for the former. That’s why my guess on the Jack Bauer Kill Counter is a measly 1. I figure that any kills are going to be offset by crying and apologizing. I’m sure everyone will be thrilled to know that when the long awaited Season 7 of 24 finally arrives our hero will be reunited with his daughter.

Just when you think 24 could not possible sink further into the depths of redunkulousness, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Kim Bauer will return, joining Zombie Tony and Jack “Into Africa” Bauer.

Maybe they’re just trying to make season 6 look better.

Mark you calendars for the event we’ve all been waiting for — November 23rd at 8pm — The return of 24 with a two hour prequel that bridges the gap between seasons six and seven.

Now I’m not saying that Jack Bauer used torture or violence to end the strike, but the writers strike went on for 4 months and ends within two weeks after his release from jail.

What other explanation could there be?

Let’s be clear. 24 is a work of fiction, a television show. Nothing more. As fun as the show and the characters are to watch, there is a world of difference between the created, fictional world and the real one.

One recent example is the difference between Jack Bauer and the actor that portrays him, Keifer Sutherland.

Star Kiefer Sutherland has already filmed a public service annoucement which begins: “Global warming is a crime for which we are all guilty!”

Think that will put to rest all the “24″ is conservative nonsense? No, I don’t either.
