Welcome to bRight & Early and a great big thank you to Gaius, Sis, Debbie, The guys at Justbarkingmad and Chris. If you’re looking for information on the dastardly act of covert surveillance and illegal entry just scroll down. But while you’re here I’d like to point out a few things.

If you are a blogger, please consider entering your site information into the Blogiversary Database. By completing the process you will automatically be entered into the Blogiversary Database Contest. (Follow the link for more information on the contest. That post will be bumped back to the top later today.)

Of course I would love for you to visit again. Why not Blogroll bRight & Early?

Quite a few folks today have participated in the “24″ poll in the right sidebar. Why don’t you?

So, where are you from? Put a pin in the Frappr Map to let everyone know.

Advertising on bRight & Early is never discouraged.

But mostly, thank you for visiting. Have a wonderful Christmas.

The New Ad

Although I didn’t get any comments when I asked about running my new ad, I did get some private correspondence. I do appreciate that very much. As you can tell, I decided to run the ad.

There were two main factors:

1) I’m a capitalist. Their money is good, and there isn’t anything offensive about the ad that would cause me to reject it. I don’t agree with their politics, but they should have known that when they purchased the ad.

2) I believe the readers here are smart and won’t be pulled away to the “other side” by a simple ad.

With those two thoughts in mind it was an easy decision. I thank them, and you, for your support.

I just received an email letting me know that a new blogad has been submitted to run here. Here. By the DCCC. Do they read this blog, or did they just search by Florida?

Should I take the money and laugh?

Your input is appreciated.

On this Saturday leading up to Memorial Day I thought it would be nice for me to suggest a few things you can do before you head out for the day.

  • Take the poll regarding the House-Senate conference committee on immigration. It’s at the top left of the main page
  • Add your blog to the Blogiversary Database
  • Write a post about the Blogiversary Database. Link to this post and get an open trackback!
  • Stick a pin in the bRight & Early Frappr Map
  • Buy a bRight & Early blogad

Now you can go about enjoying your weekend!

Sunday Morning Stuff

Here’s some stuff for a relatively slow Sunday Morning:

Blogads — You can purchase blogads here at bRight & Early. They’re not expensive, and I could use the help. :-D

Update Your Blogroll — Have you changed the url for bRight & Early on your blogroll? I know most of you have, but some (Matt) still have not. ;-)
Of course if you haven’t added bR&E to your blogroll, a slow Sunday morning would be the perfect time to do so.

Florida Bloggers — Are you a conservative Florida blogger? You’re invited to join the Red State Floridian blogroll.

Blogs4Blogs — This blogroll is for those who think that our free speech, particularly our political speech on our blogs, is protected by the Constitution and should not be regulated by the FEC or the government. To join just drop me an email with your blog information.

Frappr Map — Why haven’t you stuck a pin in our Frappr Map?

Getaway ‘N Go Travel — Part of today will involve some site updates at Getaway ‘N Go Travel. Included will be the ability to book your travel online. If you’re making travel plans consider using Getaway ‘N Go Travel. You’ll get competitive prices and personalized service. You’ll also be helping a conservative entrepreneur and blogger.

Coming to Florida? — This is sort of a side note to my blog friends. If you’re planning on visiting the Florida Mouse or any destination in Central Florida, and you don’t let me know, I’m going to be most upset! Spring break and summer vacation are both approaching fast. Come on down!

Have a great Sunday.

First New Day

You know how it is when you move to a new home and there’s that first day where you’re no longer moving in but living there? It’s sort of the same thing when you move your blog. And no, today’s not that day (but tomorrow should be).

I spent too much time this morning finishing up some tweeks to this new location. Some you might notice, most you won’t. In related news, it appears as if the tech folks at my old site have fixed the problem. I’m still glad I made the move here as I think having a separate domain name is a better thing. Still, that’s good news as the database problem was causing problems with other sites I have hosted on the same server. I also want to thank those who have made the changes to their links and blogrolls. Thank you also for the kind words and the encouragement. I may not have the type of traffic I aspire to, but the quality of the folks visiting here is second to none!

I took the occasion of the change over to do some slight modifications to the site. Brian (Iowa Voice) let me know that there was a problem with the right sidebar being pushed all the way down the page in ie. That’s been fixed (I hope). I noticed the same thing at work, but thought it was the one-step-up-from-a-microwave-oven that I use there. If you notice anything wonky, please let me know. Thanks.

Some other changes:

  • Added a link to Blogging Man 2007 in the sidebar. I look forward to attending this, “gathering of political bloggers,” next year.
  • I’ve restarted the tag cloud. It’s located in the right sidebar and contains tags from my most recent posts. Tags that occur more frequently are larger and darker than those that are used less.
  • Removed my google ads. They added exactly zip to the blog and my bank account.
  • I’ve added blogads. Consider advertising here.

Now to catch up on the news. I am way behind in that department as well.

We now return to our regularly scheduled blogging.
