OIT – Obama Induced Tourettes

There’s a malady sweeping the country that is quickly going from sporadic to epidemic. That disease is OIT, otherwise known as Obama Induced Tourettes.

We saw the first public outbreak of OIT last October when Congressman Joe Wilson popped a rupture disk and famously intoned “You Lie.”

The condition is triggered by the inability of The Won to utter more than a paragraph without serving up more whoppers than a Burger King near a MorOn MoveOn convention.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito is the latest to display OIT.

Please don’t condemn those with OIT, there’s really nothing they can do. In fact there is growing evidence that those who had originally been diagnosed with HCDB (Hope-n-Change Debilitating Blindness) have been cured of that dread disease only to find OIT left in it’s wake.

Rather than pitying those with OIT, we should embrace them. As it spreads the prospects for the removal of the root cause by 2012 increase exponentially. In fact, some signs are pointing to the eradication of some of the subordinate causes as early as this fall.

To recycle a MLB ad campaign from several years ago: OIT — Catch it!

You Evil, Evil Businesses

Listing to Rush while I’m at lunch. He played a clip of President Obama that is just astounding in it’s cluelessness. I will find the actual quote as soon as possible, but here is my take.

The president placed the blame for joblessness on business, ignoring the role government plays. His basic premise is that businesses are interested in making a profit at the expense of creating jobs. Really? The purpose of a business is to give people jobs? He. Doesn’t. Have. A. Clue.

UPDATE: Here’s the actual quotes from the White House web site.

But despite the progress we’ve made, many businesses are still skittish about hiring. Some are still digging themselves out of the losses they incurred over the past year. Many have figured out how to squeeze more productivity out of fewer workers, and that cost-cutting has become embedded in their operations and in their culture. That may result in good profits, but it’s not translating into hiring. And so that’s the question that we have to ask ourselves today: How do we get businesses to start hiring again? How do we get ourselves to the point where more people are working, and more people are spending, and you start seeing a virtuous cycle and the recovery starts to feed on itself?

I’m not an economist nor a business owner, but from what I observe, the answer to how do we businesses to start hiring again is get government out of the way.

Now.

Once again Chris Muir has nailed it. He has perfectly summed up nine months in eight panels.

I’m just sorry that he’s so accurate.

Not quite the way other leaders have done things. Of course being a clueless pretender with no experience and a general disdain for the country you are supposed to be leading does have it’s drawbacks.

Low Flying Plane?

You’ve got to love the coverage of today’s announcement regarding bringing the 9/11 terrorists to trial in New York. I’ve been reading a bit of it and this paragraph, in a Reuters story headlined New York split over plan to try September 11 plotters caught my attention.

Several security scares since 2001 — a 2007 steam pipe explosion and earlier this year a low flying plane trailed by a fighter jet flying over the Statue of Liberty for a photo shoot — have created panic among still jittery New Yorkers.

I added the bold, just in case you didn’t see what I saw.

Are you kidding me? A “low flying plane”? Uh, could you be a little more specific? It was one of the aircraft that becomes Airforce One when the President is on board.

As for the rest of this travesty, that will have to wait for later for comment.

The Reagan Prize

In light of President Obama’s Nobel Prize for doing, well, nothing of note, Jeffrey Lord takes a look at the idea of an award for those who actually make a contribution to peace — The Reagan Prize.

The hard cold facts of history illustrate that the peace through strength policies initiated by President Reagan were a success. His belief in the importance of human freedom, in directly opposing tyranny and protecting liberty, combined with the maintenance and, when needed, projection of a strong military, ended the Cold War and the “evil empire” that was the Soviet Union. Reagan’s strategy freed millions of East Europeans enslaved since the end of the Second World War, which in turn was brought on by the inexcusably wrong-headed, naive if well-intentioned policies of one Nobel Peace Prize winner after another.

He makes a compelling case and the whole article is more than worth a read.

J.P. Freire, writing at the Washington Examiner, asks, “Can a sitting president receive a Nobel Peace Prize?

There’s a problem for President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize victory and it’s not his inexperience. From Article I, Section 9 of “that neglected curio,” the U.S. Constitution:

“No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”

At least the Nobel Awards Committee.

U.S. President Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” the Nobel Committee said in Oslo today.

For doing WHAT? Seriously. What?

And I was already in a bad mood this morning. This news isn’t going to help.

When you’re trying to protect the lead in the 9th you make a call to the bullpen. If you’re an extra terrestrial you phone home. If you’re under seige by Gozer the Gozerian, who ya’ gonna call?

What if you’re the POTUS and CiC? Do you think you might just call the top Afghanistan commander more than once?

Gen. Stanley McChrystal says he’s talked to President Obama only once since taking command of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan over the summer, a revelation that drew swift criticism from some who are concerned that the president is putting off McChrystal’s request for more troops.

Maybe Baracky (don’t loose that number) will be able to squeeze in a few minutes after he returns from trying to enrich his Chicago possee in Copenhagen.

For It’s One, Two, Three Strikes. . .

James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles made some video tapes.

They went to Baltimore and showed ACORN workers who were totally at ease and very helpful to who they thought were pimps and prostitutes looking for some community help setting up an illegal business and tax fraud.

We were assured that

the employees “did not meet ACORN’s standards of professionalism.”

These were the only two bad apples in the whole ACORN universe.

Uh, no.

In an amazing coincidence there were two more ACORN employees, in D.C. this time, who also were willing to help set up a local “Underage Salvadorian Ho’s R Us” franchise.

In spite of the undoubtedly rare circumstance of finding this second set of employees who did not meet ACORN’s amazingly high standards of professionalism, the reactionary Census Bureau severed their ties with the group.

Shocked by the activity of the poor misunderstood ACORN enablers workers, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia Jessamy is looking into prosecuting — O’Keefe and Giles.

Bertha Lewis, ACORN’s Chief Organizer, issued a statement that explained it all.

We are their Willy Horton for 2009. We are the boogeyman for the right-wing and its echo chambers. If ACORN did not exist, the right-wing would have needed to create us in order to achieve their agenda, their missions, their ideal, retrograde America. This recent scam, which was attempted in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia to name a few places, had failed for months before the results we’ve all recently seen. I am appalled and angry; I cannot and I will not defend the actions of the workers depicted in the video, who have since been terminated. But it is clear that the videos are doctored, edited, and in no way the result of the fabricated story being portrayed by conservative activist “filmmaker” O’Keefe and his partner in crime.

O’Keefe has demanded an apology.

They obviously found the only four people in ACORN who would do such undefensable things. As Ms. Lewis explained to all of us, they tried this in a number of other cities and were rebuffed. Cities like New York. This would never happen in a city like New York.

Not so fast, Sparky.

ACORN Video: Prostitution Scandal in New York, NY

It is well past the time that this group should be investigated and held to account. They are frauds and should never receive another dime from the U.S. Treasury. If the Community Organizer in Chief doesn’t denounce them, now, we need to know why.

I just wonder if there is a strike four, five, or six out there.
