Theme Change and Tweaking

I’ve switched over to a new theme, as you can see. I know this theme is quite a bit like the old one, but that is likely to change as I play around with things. After all, playing around with the site is what weekends are for.

One thing you’ll notice is that you can place a post in the featured category and it will appear on the top of the first page. That featured post will remain on top until you remove it from the featured category or make a newer post featured.

Everything appears to be working, but please let me know if you find something that is goofy. That doesn’t apply to the posts. I already know how goofy they are.

Yeah, you’ve got a lot of tweaking to do! :)

Accessing the site with Internet Explorer 6.0, the inboard right hand sidebar doesn’t start until after the bottom of the first article, at which point it shoves down the previous articles.

But your biggest problem is that, by using a non-boldfaced black font on a medium aqua background, you’ve created a text that can be difficult to read. It’s a cloudy day in beautiful downtown Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, so I can see it now, but if it was a sunny day, I might not be able to read your posts.

Oh, there is quite a bit to do yet. I do want to make the background lighter, and to my 52 year old eyes the font is too small. Those two “tweaks” are next.

Take a look now.
