Primaries, Caucuses, and Conventions. Oh My!

Elisha CuthbertThe polls are about to open on the east coast. Almost half the states will be holding some sort of nomination contest today. Of course you are probably already aware of this — Unless you haven’t read any news, watched any TeeVee, or only surf the net looking for Elisha Cuthbert pics.

Mathematically this won’t decide the races. Practically, things will be much closer to being decided at the end of the day. Most of the Republican races are winner take all. California, the state with the most delegates up for grabs, is an exception that awards proportionally.

I am going to try and put together a spread sheet or table of what’s at stake and then update it throughout the evening.

And here’s the thing. The cable news outlets, online sites, and any and every political outlet of any size or configuration will be trying to size up today’s results, but results won’t start coming in for hours yet.

The earliest results should come from West Virginia which is the one state that is selecting their Republican delegates by convention. So look for the various news sources to grab on to any story, poll, or news tidbit as they wait for results to start rolling in about twelve hours from now.

I’ll be posting what I find as well. Check back, OK?
