Let’s Focus

Here is a list of things about Barack Obama that I totally do not care about:

  • That his middle name is Hussein.
  • That his picture was taken wearing native garb.
  • That he wrote a paper about being president in grade school.
  • What he wears or doesn’t wear on his lapel.
  • What his wife wrote in college.

None of that matters much at all. The odds are pretty good that he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. There are many reasons to work for his defeat in November, but none of the reasons are on that list.

Let’s focus here people.

  • In his short congressional career he has racked up the most liberal voting record of any candidate.
  • His experience is a big ol’ cipher.
  • The grandiose plans he has announced, while short on substance, are long on dipping into our back pockets.
  • His announced intentions to sit down with the dictators and thugs of the world without conditions is naive, short-sighted, and damaging to the country’s best interest.
  • S. 2433 — The Global Poverty Act — an extreme act of wealth redistribution.
  • His liberal voting record certainly indicates the type of judges he will appoint. And let’s not forget, that goes beyond the Supreme Court nominations that the next president will make. There will also be dozens of other federal judgeships that will impact every aspect of our lives for years to come.

It’s not an exhaustive list, but it does contains things that deserve focus. Let’s leave the fluff to the evening news.
