Why Is It Necessary?

The story is now a few days old, but I made a note of it on Friday because it just made me wonder. The headline on Yahoo! is Clinton seeks to convince voters she won debate, but that begs the question, if she did so awesomely good as her campaign (and fawning media) would have us believe why do we need to be convinced?
