Dear Editor,

This is a copy of a letter that I recently wrote to Mona Charen and thought that I would pass it on to you, as well.

Thank You,
Sean Simmons

---------

Dear Mona,

I seriously do not think that you will take the time to read this, so I'll try to get right to the point.

It is not a habit of mine to send personal emails to columnists, but your article "Too Close To Kooky" prompted me to read virtually every article written by you within recent months and to read more about you, in general. Not because my personal beliefs and opinions about Ron Paul are similar to your own, not by a long shot, but because I thought that your incredulous attempt to discredit Dr. Paul was rather .... "kooky".

I won't bother addressing your individual claims here (I certainly will, at your request), but suffice it to say that while I do agree with some of your commentaries, and find your witticisms somewhat entertaining, I find that much of your work lacks criteria that would be considered editorialization based on factual truth. Now, I realize that this is a trend very popular in our "infotainment" industry, but it worries me when I see so many columnists basing their opinions on rhetoric and not actual fact. Your tendency to call names and use labels like a schoolyard bully, in my mind, makes you no better than the people that you claim to despise so much. After reading your material it's easy for me to form the basic opinion that you are just an average person who shares their opinion in the guise of an objective report. Is this true? Care to comment?

"The problems we face do not cry out for a man on a white horse, but for someone who can persuade the nation about what is required to face our problems" ~Mona Charen

Well said. If you think that you can persuade me into believing that there is a person who can better shoulder this monumental task than Dr. Paul, then please, I would like to hear what you have to say.

Barry Day,

I am glad to see you linked to David Walker. An extraordinary man who needs to be heard from more. He has been trying to inform Americans of what is happening. I hope he gets more coverage and more people begin to listen to him.

David Walker is the United States Comptroller General in the GOA (Government of Accountability Office) for the past 15 years. He is bipartisan and highly intelligent. He knows his business.

Ron Paul has addressed how we can get this out of control debt/spending that Mr. Walker informs us about under control. He is the only candidate that seems serious about getting our finances in order and improving the value of the American dollar. We can not live in a house built of cards. There is huge depth and value in Ron Pauls message.

If only people would inform themselves... Thanks for the links, Barry.

People giving millions to create a little mischief for the GOP? Are you SERIOUS? OMG!
They want more.....much more

I am SICK of the American people being used as "useful idiots" , manipulated by BOTH parties. They constantly dip out of the same cup and present us with "choices" from the same pot of swill. (sigh!)

I am voting against the WAR. Democrats got in last election and consequently FUNDED the surge. Good Lord! Nancy Pelosi even tabled the Bush impeachment initiative (but it's still ALIVE!) I don't trust ANY of them!

I want us OUT of Iraq. I want our Country to stop doing the bidding of Big Business married to Big Government.

Stop being a good Democrat. Stop being a good Republican. Start being a good American.

I'm voting to get out of Iraq and Israel and the whole damn Middle East.

I'm voting to get out of Korea.

I'm voting to get out of NATO.

I'm voting to bring ALL our troops home and protect our own borders and stop the stampede. Our country is going BROKE and we can't afford this.

I'm voting for Ron Paul whose been against this thing from the very start, and against alot of other things as well.

Good Lord man...WAKE UP!

We have gone from simply and easily putting a $5/$10/$20 billion dollar
BOUNTY (Constitutionally called "Letter of Marque" and reprisal) for the
"kill or capture" of Osama and thugs,(submitted to Congress by Ron Paul in
October, 2001)

To a $500 Billion dollar a year Crusade/Occupation trying to stamp out Islam!

We couldn't even AFFORD to finance this absurd goal without BORROWING the
capital from our enemies in China...who now hold our entire economy by a
thread!

And this potential nightmare is brought to you by the SAME people who want
to run a NAFTA super highway through your backyard.

Once the dollar is collapsed and you scream for "solutions", they will "rescue"
us with an AMERO currency and a merged Canada/U.S./Mexico plan.

Think Congress will "put their foot down" before they "bow the knee" and
surrender our Sovreignty for the sake of preventing a Depression?
Think again.

They didn't even have the courage to debate and DECLARE WAR as
constitutionally required and now they "wring their hands" because it's not
going well.

We, the people, need to lead. Congress will follow.

Wake up ....the time is short, the hour has come.
We have a SLIM chance to get out of this mess!

Do your own homework.
NOBODY explains Ron Paul
BETTER than Ron Paul himself!

Here is an interactive audio archive of
Ron Paul speeches and interviews as a resource in chronological
order.

9 trillion in debt ($175,000 for every man, woman and child), that Iraq is only kept alive because contractors are making BILLIONS, and that my grandmother will be "chipped" with an ID card that carries a RFI chip.

It's a complete, corrupt "free for all", as the politicians continue to pillage every last nickel from the people, and the press pushes "their boy" Juliani. The fix is in, Diebold has already set the machines for Juliani, and nobody cares to have a paper receipt...is everybody THAT drugged up?

What is happening to our nation as we become increasingly divided amongst ourselves is not comical, although you might wish to portray those seeking to restore the unifying framework of our founding documents as such.

(Sorry, that sentence was a bit long. Let me try again.)

So-called RonBots are not simply here for comic relief. The Declaration of Independence and Constitution provide a framework for individual liberty and self-governance that we increasingly ignore, with increasingly dire results.

Freedom is popular, and if you haven't noticed the erosion in your freedoms (both economically and socially), you've stopped trying to live.

If you are willing to open your mind and face the cognitive dissonance around you, you might benefit from reading the following:

I find it hard to believe that a significant portion of the donations are from people wanting to do mischief to the Republicans. I would love nothing better than to do "mischief" to the cons, but I'm not about to give a $100 bucks to a Republican to do so. Is there any proof at all of this assertion, other than a few anecdotes?

Hi,

I support Ron Paul because I want a better future for my son. At the rate we are going things do not look so great for America and Americans. I owe my son something better then a bloated government, huge debt, and a devalued dollar. I also do not want to have a future draft as we enter a period of “long wars” and become the world police for other countries.

To indicate that I believe in and donated to Ron Paul yesterday because I wanted to get back at the other Republicans running is odd logic. When I gave my $100 yesterday it was not on my mind, "HA HA I got you now, you Republicans". I really do not have extra money laying around, especially with winter gas bills right around the corner, to try to get republicans back with my $100 dollar donation. Nor do I think my $100 harmed any other candidate.

Honesty is one of the key reasons Ron Paul is so popular. Yet you claim that Ron Paul's supporters are dishonest because we donate to him just to cause grief to the others that are running for Prez. This seems very paranoid to me. There is no scheme or shady elements. Very odd...

No where in the threads or in real life have I heard anyone supporting Ron Paul state that they support him in the hope that he will cause mischief within the Republican party.

I live in a Republican dominate area and what I hear is sadness over the party being destroyed by the neoconservative Republicans. They feel that these Republicans do not represent them and have caused harm to the party.

The name calling and "comic relief" comments are shallow at best and are reflective of the Coulter and Limbaugh type of mentality. This type of behavior hardly benefits anyone. Especially yourselves. Try raising yourself through your own means of intellect as opposed to putting down others in hopes that it will make you feel better.
