More Socialism From Hillary

Once again Hillary Clinton is proposing economic plans that are nothing more than poorly disguised socialism. Back in May of this year she outlined her economic vision, “saying it’s time to replace an “on your own” society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.” The link to the original news story on that post is no longer active, but the heart was this:

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an “ownership society” really is an “on your own” society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

“I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”

Well, today in Iowa she is promoting more of the same.

Every citizen could get a 401(k) retirement account and up to $1,000 in annual matching funds from the government under a plan offered Tuesday by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.

At a cost of $20 billion-$25 billion a year, the plan is Clinton’s largest domestic proposal other than her plan for universal health insurance. The New York senator said it would be paid for by taxing estates worth more than $7 million per couple and would help narrow the gap between the rich and those who don’t have enough savings for retirement.

But at least she’s given up on one idea (after she got beaten up pretty good by pretty much everybody both left and right).

At the same time, Clinton said she has given up another idea for a savings incentive — giving every baby born in the United States a $5,000 account to one day pay for college or a first home.

Just in case there is any doubt about her Socialist leanings, she explains further:

As for the retirement accounts, Clinton said during a campaign stop in small-town central Iowa, “They will begin to bring down this inequality that is eating away at our social contract.” She said, “This is a major commitment to how I believe we can begin to right the balance again.”

My only question is which is scarier: the fact that she would propose such an idea, or the sad reality that people will support her socialist ideals?

Would someone explain, in words of two syllibles or less so a socialist would understand, by “opportunity for all and special priviledges for none”? One man works hard, pays for housing for his family, feeds them out of his earnings, and pays for everyone in the family to be insured and educated. Another man sits in his recliner watching his wide screen plasma TV; all in a government subsidized apartment, eating Cheeto’s bought with food stamps, has no insurance (got to keep payments up on that $6,000 TV) and could care less if any of the kids he can’t afford to have even go through high school. Both have opportunity, but who is the privileged man?

This REALLY offends me. Why is it that the only plans she has involve ME giving up my hard-earned money?
