Six Years Later

Jim Lynch September 11th, 2007 6:36 am

We promised ourselves, our families, friends, and nation that we would never forget. I remember saying in the days immediately following September 11th, 2001 that perhaps a better truth to keep would be that we would always remember.

A list of the names of the victims can be found here. The links on that post are to sites which had tributes to the victims for last year’s 2996 project. Some of the links may no longer be active, but the thoughts and prayers remain.

I will add more thoughts on this through out the day.

I have made this an open trackback post, so please feel free to add links to your posts as I go around and gather others.

Captain’s Quarters

Three years later, the terrorists still have not claimed another day. There may come a day that belongs to them, but every morning since 9/11 we have been able to say, Today is not that day. Thanks to the men and women in our armed forces, intelligence, and law-enforcement agencies, we have continued to say that.

Part of the War On Terror is being fought on a psychological level. Terrorists enjoy killing and destroying, but they got the name “terrorists” because their focus is beyond the immediate destruction — they want to terrorize those who are not killed or injured or otherwise directly affected by their attacks.
