Ingrid
By Jim Lynch on Sep 13, 2007 in Weather
With Humberto forming quickly, dumping lots of water on Texas and Louisiana, and then dissipating just as quickly, it’s time for another storm. And we have one — Ingrid.
From the National Hurricane Center:
AT 1100 PM AST…0300Z…THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM INGRID WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 14.7 NORTH…LONGITUDE 48.7 WEST OR ABOUT 840
MILES…1355 KM…EAST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES.INGRID IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 6 MPH…9 KM/HR…
AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS.MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MPH…65 KM/HR…WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. A SMALL INCREASE IN STRENGTH IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT 24
HOURS.
There is a good chance that this storm will die out before reaching the U.S.
Of course, we’ll wait and see.
