First CupCoffee makes us severe, and grave, and philosophical. ~ Jonathan Swift

A Belated Happy 1st Blogiversary to:
Steeljaw Scribe

I am finding 6:30am a difficult time to do First Cup Radio. It’s not a problem for me. I’m up sometime between 4:30 and 5:30. I just don’t want to disturb the rest of the household, so I end up speaking in a near whisper. On top of that, there aren’t a lot of folks listening that early, even on the east coast. On the west coast it’s 3:30 when the show starts!

Later this morning I’ll have a new poll where you can help choose a better time. Your suggestions are welcome in the comments as well.

A continued heavy work load at the day job means that posting will be light, if at all, until this afternoon.

Of course the big story is the latest bit of political theater staged by Harry Reid, et. al. The various news outlets are headlining stories as an all night “debate” when it is clearly anything but a debate. The Surrenderthon™ is causing yawns far beyond the halls of Congress.

Confederate Yankee (Bob Owens) Errata

Wait a minute… This can’t be right, can it?

…Senate Republicans pushed through a nonbinding resolution stating that “precipitous withdrawal” from Iraq would “create a safe haven for Islamic radicals, including Al Qaeda and Hezbollah, who are determined to attack the United States and (U.S.) allies.” The vote was 94-3.

[...]

If the Politico is accurate in their overwhelming vote count of 94-3, then this strongly suggests that a supermajority of Democrat Senators are admitting that the withdraw plan they clamor for will result in creating “a safe haven for Islamic radicals, including Al Qaeda and Hezbollah, who are determined to attack the United States and (U.S.) allies,” and they still favor it.

Please tell me why these Democrat Senators will admit that they support a plan that they believe will encourage terrorism?

Dr. Sanity (Pat Santy) SCARY STORY TIME AT THE SLEEPOVER

With every release of good news; with every optimistic appraisal; the Democrats become more and more determined to surrender. Doesn’t this haste seem rather unseemly to you?

See the cartoon there as well :-D
