This AP Story is just coming in.
A vehicle in central London that was packed with explosives, gas canisters and nuts and bolts would have caused “significant damage,” a British security official told The Associated Press Friday.
Authorities said they had defused an explosive device found in the parked car, and the new government called an emergency meeting of senior security chiefs to investigate.

Updates when more is known.
