Getting ready for a third year:
Two weeks from today bRight & Early will celebrate it’s second blogiversary. Like most bloggers, I am in constant re-evaluation mode — How do things look? What works and what doesn’t? What brings me satisfaction? What needs to be changed?
Most of the time those thoughts are merely on the edge of our consciousness. At other times, at least for me, those thoughts come to the forefront. For some it reaches the stage of deciding to kick the blogging habit for other pursuits. I’ll tell you up front, that is not the case here.
Often the desire to make changes will take the form of site redesign, from minor tweaks to a complete make over. I plan on doing some of that over the next few weeks here, mostly in that minor tweaks area.
Occasionally the changes will be in the style and tone of writing, although rarely in the topicality or author’s point of view (I can’t see Michelle suddenly focusing on fashion faux pas, Ed championing pork, or Brian becoming a “tea smoking hippy”, can you?).
One of the thoughts that been on my mind for some time falls into the what works, what doesn’t category. I feel that I’ve drifted away from discussing the topics that interest me. Not that I’ve stopped writing about those things, nor have those things changed. It’s more that I have covered those things with less frequency and depth than I’d like (and than I have in the past).
The reasons why are varied and unimportant. The desire to correct, change, improve, rededicate, what ever, is real and very much at the front of my recent blog related thoughts. You may notice the change, some may not.
In any case, that’s my little side trip inside my thoughts. Now on with the show.
