We Come In Peace

I read this:

“We came in friendship, hope, and determined that the road to Damascus is a road to peace,” said Pelosi, who met for three hours with Syrian President Bashar Assad.

And I just had to come up with this:

The road to Damascus was where St. Paul had his conversion. She’s referring to her meeting with Assad by using a metaphor about a Jew becoming a Christian.

Maybe she actually is on our side, because that’s some pretty sophisticated pyschological warfare. Is she implying that the only way to peace is to convert everyone to Christianity?
