Coffee falls into the stomach … ideas begin to move, things remembered arrive at full gallop … the shafts of wit start up like sharp-shooters, similes arise, the paper is covered with ink… ~ Honore de Balzac

GOP Bloggers (Mark Noonan) Edwards’ Bold, New Proposal!
What a man! It takes rare guts for a man to just ignore reality and plunge right ahead into programs which aren’t needed and would be counter-productive, but would at least give MoveOn and Daily Kos types a set of mindless talking points for 2008.
Gina Cobb 9/11 Conspiracy Theories Melt in Searing Flames
We’ll be looking for apologies from you and a all the other 9/11 “truthers” (there’s the ultimate misnomer) who have viciously slandered America, its people, it’s president, its executive branch, and more — while cruelly excusing the murderers who slaughtered almost 3,000 people and injured thousands more.
Heading Right (Ed Morrissey) Obama the Neocon?
Obama is no neocon, and I think he’d take that as a compliment. He’s also no national-security Democrat, and his idea of staying on the offense only lasts as long as no one dies as a result. War, unfortunately, means something else entirely, which is why nations should not wage it except for the most serious of threats, and only when they intend to fight until victory. Obama hasn’t shown that he has the stomach for that kind of tenacity, not in Djibouti, Kandahar, or Anbar. If the Democrats want to nominate a national-security hawk, they’d better look for someone with a little more resolve and a lot more experience.
Right Wing News (John Hawkins) A Quick, Extremely Late Democratic Debate Review
#5) It occurred to me while watching the monotonous answers from each candidate that one of side effects of the “YouTube era,” is going to be extremely tightly controlled, scripted answers to every question (even moreso than in the past) because the candidates are all going to be terrified of saying that one spontaneous thing that will end up being seen over and over, millions of times between now and 2008. That’s unfortunate because as politics is getting more entertaining and accessible to the average person via blogs, Youtube, and talk radio, the politicians are going to be getting duller and phonier than ever.
