First CupAh! How sweet the coffee’s taste is,
Sweeter than a thousand kisses,
Milder than sweet muscatel.
Coffee, coffee, I must have it,
And if someone wants to treat me,
Ah, my cup with coffee fill! ~ Johann Sebastian Bach (Koffee Kantate)

Iowa Voice (Brian) Democrats Know They’ve Lost

Ted “Where’s My Pants” Kennedy said just yesterday, in typical oblivious fashion, “We cannot repeat the mistake of Vietnam.” Yet what they’re trying to do is just that: repeat the mistakes of Vietnam.

Capatin’s Quarters (Ed Morrissey) Debate Drones

I have a deep skepticism about televised debates in any case. It’s usually a forum for posturing and gotchas, where the only insight one gets is whether candidates have a quick enough wit to keep pace. It tells nothing else about a candidate that one couldn’t glean from a campaign website and a little research, and often tells less than nothing at all. This appears to be the case with last night’s debate, where America got to see nine varieties of political vanilla.

Don Surber What they meant to say at the Dem debate

The first Democratic presidential debate was a huge success because few Americans actually saw the 8 candidates who showed up. The Democrats cleverly chose the least-watched cable TV news station — MSNBC, which hoped to use the debate to double its audience so that it could finally draw half of Shep Smith’s audience.

I was among the estimated 299.6 million Americans who did not watch the debate.

That of course does not stop me from blogging about it.
