Captain’s Quarters (Ed Morrissey) House Disregards Petraeus, Votes For Withdrawal

The same party leaders that scolded Bush during the election last year for listening to Donald Rumsfeld rather than his field commanders now won’t even bother to attend a briefing with Petraeus before setting out on this course. They set the vote up in order to coordinate campaign commercials while declaring defeat from Capitol Hill. They have made themselves into a disgrace in less than four months in power, reminding the nation why they locked them out of power for the previous six years.

The Strata-Sphere (A.J. Strata) The Esteemed Joe Lieberman

Never in the history of this country have people worked so hard from within this country to lose a war. Vietnam was their first success in losing, that is why the Dems are using all the same tactics now. They have the media puppets screaming “losers!”. They are pulling up emotional and disgruntled soldiers to do show trials on the Hill to make it look like the military is out of control and evil (reminiscent of Ghengis Khan). They do not bring up those with positive positions and heroic stories.

Both Captain Ed and Rick Moran disagree with Chris Muir’s depiction of Hillary Clinton in blackface in today’s Day by Day strip. Not everyone is seeing it the same way. You can join the discussion at Heading Right. Rick’s post is here and Ed’s is here.

Side Note: I enjoyed talking to Rick yesterday afternoon at the end of CQ radio’s daily broadcast. As he noted, I’ve been linking to his site for quite some time. I must admit that I haven’t been reading it as often as in the past (I really do depend on that recently updated thing too much) but that will be corrected.

I’m sure the sensitivity police won’t appreciate the comic, especially with Hillary in blackface. (But notice her hands are still depicted as white.) In any event, wasn’t her husband our “first black president”?

It really is a shame how the “sensitivity police” make it so difficult to use delightfully racist imagery.
