Senator Johnson Recovering

Good news for Senator Johnson and his family.

Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson remained in critical condition but was described as recovering and holding his wife’s hand Thursday after emergency overnight surgery to repair bleeding inside his brain.

Much of the coverage on this has been shameful. Gaius at Blue Crab Boulevard put it very well.

I have refrained from mentioning anything else about this although many people are well aware of the speculation the press has engaged in. I will only say this: it is disgraceful to focus on political issues when a man is fighting for his life. Say a prayer for him or at least keep him and his family in your thoughts. This is a very tough time for them, too.

We wish him a full a speedy recovery.
