A “Sort-of” Fix

Blogrolling.com is still not showing recently updated blogs correctly. That doesn’t help with the blogrolls where I’m a member such as Blogs for Bush or The 101st Fighting Keyboardists, but I have found a nice WordPress plugin for my own bRight & Early blogroll. It’s called Blogroll Update Plus, by Bill Hilton.

It allows you to gather the recently updated information from pingomatic.com, blogrolling.com, and/or weblogs.com and to add prepended and appended information around the links. You can also modify the time stamp display and the amount of time where a blog is considered recently updated.

It does not gather information from blogger.com, so those will not show as updated unless they ping one of the three services listed.

Uploading and installing it was WordPress easy. Just upload one file to the plugin directory, activate the plugin, and set your options. However, there was just a bit of tweaking to make it work like I wanted. If anyone wants to install it I can probably help you work out the kinks.

You can see it at work in the bR&E Blogroll in the left sidebar.
