If you are watching television you are most likely aware that a little over an hour ago a small airplane has crashed into a condominium near the East River in New York City.
From the reports on several of the news channels here is a composite of the current information:
Every eyewitness account I’ve heard indicates that the plane was a small, fixed-wing aircraft. Beyond that the observations begin to vary. I’ve heard some interviewed saying that the plane was performing acrobatic manuvers while others have suggested that the plane was attempting to come out of some kind of dive or stall.
Officials are stating that there is no evidence of terrorism, but that NORAD has scrambled fighter jets over several cities as a precaution.

UPDATE: A graphic on Fox is showing that the plane took off from the Teterboro (North Jersey) airport.
UPDATE 4:43 EDT: Fox news is reporting that two local New York television stations are reporting that the plane may be registered to NY Yankee pitcher (and former Philly) Cory Lidle.
