Baseball Season Comes to a Close

I had prematurely announced the end of the Phillies baseball season on July 30th.

In spite of the Bobby Abreu trade, the Phillies made quite a run for the NL wildcard spot. They needed to win their games yesterday and today and have either the Dodgers or the Padres lose both of their remaining games to force a one game playoff.

Philadelphia did their part and held on to beat Florida 4-3. However LA and San Diego both won as well. So it’s time to drag out the most oft used cliche in sports — “Wait ’til next year!”

The 2 and 1 Eagles play on Monday night. Hockey and the Flyers begin their season this week.

I’ll be blogging about the Flyers at The Crease. We still need more fan/writers to cover their favorite hockey team. Find out more here.
