I stand strong with President Bush on the war on terror, which is the major concern for me. No way would I turn the protection of the United States of America over to the Democrats. I have no faith whatsoever in them, other than knowing that they want to cut and run. It would be a disaster. They would allow the international community to decide how we protect ourselves, how we arrest/detain/interview/try terrorists. It would be death for America if they were in charge of our security. We see how the Democrats regard our military and the war, and we love and respect our military men and women and support victory in Iraq and against Islamic extremism. Period. Now I know there are exceptions, but they always were the exception. If anything, though, I notice MORE Bush (not only pro-military, but yes–pro-BUSH) support as time goes on, at least here. There are even still W and Bush-Cheney and “I Stand With President Bush” stickers on cars everywhere here (including mine!), there are still people writing letters to newspaper editors praising the President, our Senators (Sessions, Shelby), our Congressman (Jo Bonner), and especially our military. But more importantly, Southern women don’t base their opinions on the rantings of demagogues. We’re not talking-points-spewing drones, all marching in lockstep with Howard Freakin’ Dean and these other Democratic “leaders” (haha) who neither understand nor respect Southerners, either. All the silly groupthink among the left about how they’re “free thinkers” and how they think everyone to the right of them is some kind of brain-dead conformist shows that they clearly don’t know what they’re talking about–especially with regard to Southerners, particularly Southern women.
