Dems on Security

I saw this quote on FOX News Television earlier today:

He shouldn’t need expert advice to know that U.S. aviation security is not as good as it should be…Bush Republicans think our airports and airlines are safe enough. Democrats believe we must make air travel safer. Senate Democratic Communications Center statement.

I copied it from the TV, but don’t have a link to it yet. It got me thinking, how would the dems make air travel safer. I’ve rounded up a few quotes that give us a hint:

Nancy Pelosi

(AP/MSNBC 1/29/06) — “House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says President Bush should have used his extensive authority under the law to monitor suspected terrorists rather than approve the National Security Agency’s disputed monitoring program.

“I would not want any president — Democrat or Republican — to have the expanded power the administration is claiming in this case,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said in an interview with The Associated Press.”

(World Net Daily Pelosi meets with group tied to Hamas 8/3/2004) — “Pelosi claimed, ‘Since September 11th, many Muslim Americans have been subjected to searches at airports and other locations based upon their religion and national origin, without any credible information linking individuals to criminal conduct. Racial and religious profiling is fundamentally un-American and we must make it illegal.’ ”

Harry Reid

(The Washington Times Patriot Act extension filibustered 12/17/05) — ” ‘We killed the Patriot Act,’ boasted Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, to cheers from a crowd at a political rally after the vote.”

Of course there’s also John Kerry’s famous assertion during the Presidential debates that President Bush was exaggerating the threat of terrorism and saying that, “We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they’re a nuisance.”

So, what do you think the democRATS would do? Leave your comments.

That all depends if it is an election year or not.

How would Democrats make air travel safer?…

Sounds like fun. Find a comment and leave it at Jim’s….

My Solution to Airport Woes…

Many travelers are complaining about standing in long lines at airports to go through security screening, May I suggest a solution to the problem? American’s hate standing in long lines at airports but we are more than willing to pay good money to go….

[...] Jim over at bRight and Early is rounding up quotes from Democrats on how to improve airport security. Go over and contribute is you have any. Heck, I'd add ones from Republicans too. Might be interesting. [...]

The Dhimmicrat solution would be to sub-contract airport security to CAIR. Then the Religion of Peace would be able to protect us according the the true tenets of Islam.
