If you have Cinemax you can catch yours truly in about three minutes (Cinemax West). You see, I was one of the umpires in Major League: Back to the Minors.

And you thought you didn’t know anyone famous.

Addendum: Shooting this film was a ton of fun. Among those I had the chance to meet, several stand out —
Jensen Daggett was every bit as pleasant to talk to as she is to look at.
Former Dodgers catcher (and nephew of Chuck Yeager) Steve Yeager had some great baseball stories to tell, and he loved to tell them.
Dennis Haysbert was fun and classy. Uh, Dennis. . . I know they killed you off on 24 last season, but if you can pull any strings. . .
Scott Bakula gets my vote for the star most likely to say, “hey, let’s grab a beer.” I had two or three brief conversations with him, and he seemed to be genuinely interested in what others had to say. On one occasion I was in the lunch tent with him and his wife. He was very interested in the area and just great to talk with.

Wow! You weren’t lying (http://imdb.com/name/nm1053544/) from what you’ve told me about where you grew up.

You know, I’ve always thought you looked a bit like the antique book dealer in the movie ‘Patriot Games,’ or at least based upon your Gmail profile.

One that isn’t listed (I have to get them to change it) is White Squall. Also, although it says uncredited My name does actually appear in the credits. I think it’s the last thing before the copyright and union logo.

So were you the antique book dealer or not? That was a good character in a good movie.

[...] Hey, who knew Jim Lynch of bRight & Early was an actor?  He is an umpire in ‘Major Leage: Back to the Minors’ as well as some other roles. [...]

No. Not Me. Although they filmed The Patriot in South Carolina, work didn’t allow me to be a part of that production. I would have loved to have been in on it.

That’s a shame. You could have worn a saafari hat and stood in the desert awating a satellite to find your golden dome when you took the hat off.
