Ah! How sweet the coffee’s taste is,
Sweeter than a thousand kisses,
Milder than sweet muscatel.
Coffee, coffee, I must have it,
And if someone wants to treat me,
Ah, my cup with coffee fill! ~ Johann Sebastian Bach (Koffee Kantate)
Outside the Bullpen (Chad Evans) Another Day, Another Classified Leak — “For a very long time, cutting terrorism funding has been called a priority for the U.S. and it was a priority I didn’t think the Administration took seriously enough. Now I know that they in fact were taking this threat seriously, though to what degree is up for debate, but the New York Times has decided the GWOT must be fought on their terms that program designed to stop terrorism funding has now been revealed to the entire world.”
Iowa Voice (Brian) Will The Leaks Ever Stop? — “The only public interest being served here is the agenda by those on the anti-war left and in the media, to tell you in mainstream America that the government is abusing you, when they’re not.”
Captain’s Quarters (Ed Morrissey) NYT Reveals Secret Banking Anti-Terrorist Program — “Excuse me, but no one voted to put Bill Keller in charge of our national security, and the laws covering classification of materials does not have an option for journalists to invalidate their clearance level. The continuing arrogance of Keller and his two reporters has damaged our national security, and in this case on a ridiculously laughable story that tells us absolutely nothing we didn’t already know in concept. They keep pretending to offer news to their readers, but instead all they do is blow our national-security programs for profit.”
Don Surber NYT’s new circulation target: terrorists — “Considering its Chicken Little calls on “privacy” the last time it broke a national security secret about monitoring overseas communications, one would think the Times would back off. But the Times purpose is to drive the Bush administration out of power. The Times would rather have Mo Dowd in a burka than allow this president to do the job he was elected to do: Defend the nation and promote the general welfare.”
Michelle Malkin NYTIMES BLABBERMOUTHS STRIKE AGAIN — “The blabbermouths who have just blown the cover on this program don’t seem to care that they’ve sabotaged a successful counterterrorism tool”
And proving once again that the strongest statements can be made with humor:
ScrappleFace (Scott Ott) New York Times Secretly Sifting CIA Data — “Under a secret program launched in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks, which killed 3,000 people on American soil, The New York Times gained access to private information from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and disseminated it periodically on paper and electronically to al Qaeda and other terror organizations.”

Just once I’d like to hear the Government say a secret program was ‘just a nice thing to have on hand’ as opposed to ‘vital to national security’.

Sir, the manner in which I write is frequently coarse and less than elegant. As a fellow Texan, I’m sure you understand. So I mean no disrespect when I say that you need to get off your butt and do something about these traitors who have betrayed our….
