Hi,
I don’t think Islam call Judaism evil at all. In contrast, all Judaism saints are sacred in Islam. We should ask the question, why is it anti-semitisim is a crime by international law yet anti-islam is OK and is considered “free speech”?!

I am 100% behind Denmark, this ridiculous. It was hardly the whole of Denmark that drew those cartoons, and I don’t see why Islamic laws should apply to non-Muslims. What would the world say if Christian countries boycotted Middle Eastern goods because some of them worked on a Sunday, or dared to say that Jesus wasn’t a messiah?

summary of the biograghy of the prophet muhammed
(peace and blessing of allah be upon him)
the prophet muhammed was born in 571 A.D in makkah . which today is located
in saudi arabia.He was born fatherless,for his father ,abdullah,had died when
his mother was two monthes pregnant with him.when he was six years old his
mother ,amina bint wahab,died,leaving muhammed an orphan.His grandfather
(on his father’s side)became his guardian.His granfather had a special status and
influence in makkah,and he was looked upon as a dignified sheik by the members
of the tribe,the Quaraysh.at the time ,the Quaraysh were preeminent among all
the other arab tribes. The prophet muhammed gained the attention,love and
affection of his grandfather ,but it did not last long for his grandfather passed
away when muhammed was only eight years old.After the death of his grandfather
,his uncle,Abu Talib,became his guardian.When muhammed was twelve years old,
he went on a business trip whit his uncle,Abu Talib,to Bilas AL-Sham(syria).
that was the first time muhammed had left his homeland,Makkah.when he was
twenty-five,he left for Bilad AL-Sham (syria) on another trip,this time on business
for Mrs.Khadija Bint Khouailed ,a rich and noble woman.Khadija entrusted him
with her money after she had heard about this dependability and truthfulness
.after muhammed’s return from Bilad AL-Sham(syria) ahe asked him to marry
her.When the prophet muhammed married Khadija,he was twenty-five years
old,and she was forty.
Before he became a prophet at the age of forty,muhammed was called”the trustworthy”
because he was the most moral and trustworthy person among the pwople.He
was known for the follwing qualities:tolerance ,patience,justice,modesty,chastity
,generosity,and bravery.Before his mission to become a prophet was announced,
muhammed was known for his hatred of pagan idols.This hatred was so great that
muhammed never attended any of the ceremonies that were held in honor of the idols.
Also,the prophet muhammed never drank liquor in his life.All of the previously mentioned
characteristics were only part of the attributes bestowed by God upon his prophets
so that they can become ready to receive revelation .For prophets are always infallible.
Which means prophets do not sin before prophethood ,nor do they sin afterwards.The jews
and christians then living on the arabian peninsula,as well as the surrounding countries,
were anticipated the appearance of the last prophet in the world as was mentioned in their
divine books,the Old and new Testaments.In 610 A.D when the prophet muhammed was forty
years old,revelation from God was sent down to him through the angel Gabriel.
Gabriel inspired the prophet muhammad with the first chapter of the holy koran.
thus,the prophet muhammad was proclaimed a prophet when he was forty.After
that date the holy koran was revealed to the prophet muhammad at regular intervals
over the next twenty-hree years.This revelation was given according to circumstances
and occasions that made the revelation necessary.The Holy koran is the word of God
inspired to the prophet muhammad through Gabriel;neither prophet muhammad nor
gabriel had anything to do with this book other than its conveyance to humanity.
Gabriel recited the Holy koran to the Prophet muhammad who then memorized it
and delivered to the people.The Prophet muhammad ordred those who were
entrusted with keeping a record (his comanions0to write down the holy koran,because
the Prophet muhammad was illiterate.It is worth mentioning that all of the holy
Koran was kept in records during the time of the Prophet muhammad .Before the
Prophet muhammad’s mission,the Arabian peninsula was shrouded in ignorance
and tyranny,for the people worshipped pagan idols.Each tribe had its own god,
which was represented as a pagan idol that the tribe worshipped.since there were
360 tribes at that time,there were 360 different pagan idols.Strong people took advantage of
the weak,and wars broke out because of trivial matters.This period also witnessed innumerable
acts of stealing, plunder ,and the highway robbery of caravans.Slavery,usury,
adultery,drinking,gambling,and the burial of newborn girls due to the family’s fear
of disgrace or poverty prevailed during that time.The women’s status in society
diminished.For example,a woman did not have the right to inheit her family’sestate
,and she was considered to be a possession,like a piece of furniture or an animal.
when the Prophet muhammad appeared ,he ushered in a new era by introducing
the islamic religion.He called upon the people to worship the one God and to
observe the new laws and principles that were then unfamiliar to the people.usurt,
adultery,gambling,alcoholism,slavery,burial of newborn girls,and the disregard of
women’s rights,as well as all the other immoral actions that were common during
pre-islamic times.
The islamic religion which was preached by the Prophet muhammad caused a revolution
in terms of morality among the arabs because it called for worshipping one God,
allah,and also taught the people the concept of life after death.The new religion
preached equality among all people,chastity,kinship relations,neighbor’s rights,
the giving of charity,and women’s rights to inherits and to own property.The majority
of Makkah’s polytheists were dissatisfied with this new code of living and they fought
against the Prophet muhammad .They treated him very severely,hurting and mocking him.
They called him “The liar”,”the mad”,”The magician”,and “the poet”.They called him “The poet”
in a negative sence referring to the fact that the Koran is written in poetry form.
The people were demeaning the Prophet muhammad by calling him a poet,and
not recognizing him as a Prophet muhammad .although the people had called
the Prophet muhammad “The trustworthy”before he became a prophet,afterwards
they called him many bad names.those polytheists also tormented the prophet’s
follwers.The Prophet muhammad ,along with his followers,were expelled from their home
in makkah to a desert outside the city.They were left for three years with a shortage of food
and water.Nonetheless,the Prophet muhammad continued to preach the islamic
religion in makkah for thirteen years.After that ,God the almighty orderd him to
migrate to medina.The migration to medina(called hejra”)is considred a milestone
in the history of islam,and it marks the beginning of the muslim calendar.When
the Prophet migrated to medina ,the people there supported him and he founded
the first state of islam.He spen the last ten years of his life there.
In madina ,The Prohet Muhammad was the ruler,the judge,and the commander of
the army.these responsibilities were in addition to The Prohet Muhammad’s essential
roles as prophet,messenger,father to his children,and husband to his wives.This
point illustrates one of the major differences between Muslim and non muslim
cultures.Islam is believed to be a comprehensive religion that governs all aspects of
life.Therefore,muslims do not believe in the doctrine of”Separation of Church and state”
that is common in the west.The Prohet Muhammad was strategic leader in the defence
of median as far as armies and tactics of war were concerned.He fought many battles
against the polytheists and the jews–twenty-seven military expeditions and sixty
military detachments.This was done to stop the aggression of the polytheists and
the jews and for the defence and protection of the people of medina.Also,These
battles were necessary to clear the way for the preaching of islam.In time,the people were
convinced of their own free choice of the truth of the new religion .Islam began to spread
among all the inhabitants of the arabian peninsula.Prophet muhammad sent letters to some
of the kings of the world at that time,calling them to believe in islam.Because islam
is an international religion,The Prohet Muhammad sent message to the following
rulers:Caesar,the roman king of the Byzantine;Al-Mokawakas,prince of Egypt;Negrus,
Emperor of Ethiopia;Khoshrou,king of persia;Al-Monzer Bin sawi,King of Bahrin;jeefar and
Abda,The two kings of oman;and Huthah Bin Ali,the king of al-yamamah.The Prohet Muhammad
entred into a ten-year peace treaty with the people of makkah.They violated this treaty and allied
with the bakr Tribe,killing many members of the khuza’ah Tribe,who were allied with the prophet
muhammad .Consequently,The Prohet led an army of ten thousand fighters
in order to conquer makkah .makkah realized the futility of this resistance to
the Prophet’s forces and surrendered without a fighting.The conquest of makkah is considered
by muslims to be the greatest of all triumphs,because of makkah’s status as a holy city where
the people make their yearly pilgrimages.Also,Makkah enshrines Al-Ka’aba,the house
of God which was rebuilt by the prophet Abraham.Makkah also played a significant role politically
and commercially among all the Arabian tribes.The Prohet Muhammad himself was born in makkah,
which is considered his homeland and the homeland of most of his companions.Makkah was the city
where all the tribe gathered against The Prohet of God,tormenting him personally.makkah was the
strategic center for the resistance against Islam.For all these reasons,the conquest of makkah
was significant.The Prohet Muhammad was fully aware that the conquest of makkah was the best
way to spread islam among the arabs.The Prohet Muhammad entered makkah in a humble way
that was obedient to God.The Prohet Muhammad did not enter the city in the arrogant way one
would expect of a conqueror.An indication of The Prohet Muhammad’s humility and submission
to God,his forehead almost touched the middle of his camel’s saddle as he rode into makkah.
Additionally,The Prohet Muhammad forgave all the people of makkah and ordered his soldiers
not to harm their property or wealth.As a consequence of the Prophet’s considrate,tolerant behavior,
all the citizens of makkah were converted to Islam.
After the Prophet forgave the people of makkah,he ordered that their pagan idols
be destroyed .These idols surrounded Al-Ka’aba(The Holy House that was rebuilts
by the Prophet Abraham).there had been three hundred and sixty idols.one representing
each of the Arabian tribes at That time.After the conquest of makkah,The Prohet Muhammad
returned to medina where crowds of people came to be converted to islam.Each Arabian tribe
sent a delegation to medina to find The Prohet and be taught the principles
of Islam by him.These delegations were converted to the religion on behalf of
the tribe.there were some jews and christians who did not want to change their
religion,and these people were required by the islamic religion to pay a tax.The
reason Muslims were not taxed was because they were requiredby their religion
to practice alms-giving,and had therefore already contributed money to the society.
this year was known as the”year of delegations”.During his lifetime,The Prohet Muhammad
was able to unite all the arab tribes under the religion of islam.those tribes had
traditionally fought and despised each other.No one in the history of arabia had ever been
successful in uniting them.The Prohet Muhammad became the leader of the majority
of the population on the arabian peninsula after he had established the Islamic
state.Before he died,The Prohet Muhammad made a pilgrimage to makkah.
The Prohet Muhammad circled around the Al-Ka’aba(the holy house the prophet
abraham rebuilts)seven times.Later on during his pilgrimage,The Prohet Muhammad
delivered his famous farewell speech.The following represents part of what he
said:Oh people,listen to this message for this may be the last time I will meet with you
here.Oh people,just as you regard this month and day to be holy,and just as you
regard this city makkah to be sacred,so also must you regard the life and property
of every muslim to be holy and sacred.Oh God ,did I accomplish the mission you
sent me to complete?Did I deliver your message to the people?If so,be my witness.
Oh people ,have respect for the property of others.A possession that has been
borrowed or entrusted to you must be returned to its rightful owner.Oh people,
beware of satan.while he knows you will not be deceived into worshipping him,
he still believes that he can tempt you into committing small sins.Therefore,be
careful not to follow satan’s word in matters you may think are trivial.Oh people,
since all those who believe in God are brothers,no person should take the property
of another without his permission.Oh God,Did I deliver your message to the people?
If so,be my witness.Oh people,after I am gone,do not kill one another.If you do,
you can no longer be considered Muslims.I have left you with the Book of God,
the Koran,so that you will have the correct principles to follow.As long as you
strictly abide by the teachings of the Koran,you will not be lead astray.Oh God,
did I deliver your message to the people?If I did,be my witness.Oh people,you have
one God,allah,and in his sight you are equal.All of you people are equal because
you have the same father ,Adammand you are his descendents.All of you are made
out of clay because Adam was made out of clay.For this reason,in the sight of
God no one is better than another unless he is more righteous.No arab is superior
to a non-Arab unless he is more righteous.Oh God,did I deliver your message
to the people?If so,be my witness.Oh people,those of you listening to me now
must pass this message on to those who are absent

As for the long biography of the prophet, that is great and all… But, What is your point?..To you it was a great man, to me was another historical figure that invented another religion, one that as of now it is the most violent, beligerant and ignorant of all modern faiths. I’ve about had it with nut cases who want to impose their religion on the entire world.
The Islamic world makes horrible cartoons about Jews (I am not Jewish, by the way) and they make racist and intolerant statements about everyone else who is not just like them.
Americans (I’m one) should have let Saddam continue torturing, pillaging and raping for all he was worth, since the rest of the Muslim world didn’t care - any more than they actually care about the Palestinians (or theyd have done something positive a long time ago).
Frankly, I’m all for stopping all foreign aid and boycotting everything sold from every Islamic nation. The free world props up those little dictatorships and it is time to end that by stopping the money flow.
I’m buying Danish now - I did before, but now I’m stocking up on Danish products.
I’m also boycotting anything made in countries with riots and embassy burnings over a cartoon. Turnabout it fair play and there needs to be a lot more of it to get the attention of places like Indonesia which depend upon exports the West consumes like candy.
The free world needs to pay attention to what is going on - the radicals are attempting to destroy the free world through economic means spawned by Mullahs calling for the heads of cartoonists. What drek. What utter drek.
After 9/11 people said “We are all Americans.” Well, We are Danish at this point.

But let’s that a look at the whole picture.
Its only a matter of time, be it 50 or 500 years that Islam will conquer the world. This’s because all Muslim irregardless of Nationality are all fully committed to their religion and anybody who marries them must convert to Islam. Plus they produce much much more offspring than any others so its only a matter ot time that they’ll be the most populace religion in the world. Honestly we can’t change it any other way.

I am a muslim, and i am very grieved of all of these recent incidents, at first i only held my silence and i couldn’t care less about it and kept on doing my daily activities.
But after the escalation of the matter I had to say something to open my heart and clear my conscious.
First of all I want to say that the islam that I know is a religion of tolerance, and I speak of this objectively for I have stayed in several different countries and befriended people from several different religions and believes, the islam that I know respects every man and womankind regardless of their race, believes and religion. The islam that I know of is not a religion that belongs to the arab, african, asian, nor any other single race in this world, but it is a religion bestowed by God to all humanity, revelated by God to a humanbeing named Muhammad (SAW), by the same God that propheted Adam, Issac, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Joseph, David, Jesus, Jaccob(Peace be upon them), etc. which they were all mentioned in the holy Al Quran (not the Koran).
The Islam that I know of is a religion of peace for the name itself means peace. The islam I know of is a religion which is totally against violent acts. Muhammad (SAW) for his whole lifespan of 63 years only fought two small battles which were all acts of self defence not retaliation, nor aggression. The Islam I know of is a religion of forgiveness, justice and tolerance. Muhammad (SAW) once defended a jew for his land was unjuscticely taken from him to build a mosque, Muhammad (SAW) once saw refuge to a Christian king when he was expelled from the city of Makkah. Islam may seem to have a strict law, but these laws were given by God only because it would be most effectively to prevent wrong doings in the future such as stealing, adultery, domestic violence in the household, and so on. And these laws have been proven effective, Saudi Arabia has the lowest crime rate than any country in the world.
You all must wonder why I always use the term the islam I know of, because what I want to point here is you cannot associate islam with every muslim, where u cannot associate every Christian and jew with their religion. Every person has a different interpretation, different insight, different opinion. And these differences could come to the good or to the bad. In my personal opinion, and I want to emphasize personal, the islam which leads to violence and terrorist which nowadays is the islam which is highlighted by the media, is not the islam that I know of. These people onle desecrate and humiliate islam. And if u would care to get down and really meet the muslims around the world, u would realize that there are much much much more muslims that are nice, friendly, respective
and not as militant as u see in the press. The islam that i know of is the islam which was truely preached by Muhammad(SAW). And i truely believe, and this again is my personal opinion, if the true islam,the islam tought by Muhammad(SAW), is purely preached and spread today to the whole world, every human being in this world will convert to islam.
As for the drawings, you should try to imagine if u were in the position of a muslim, imagine if there were caricatures of jesus wearing speedos while crucified and saying oops I can’t do that I don’t even have money to buy clothes, take a bath or shave my beard, look how saggy my abs are, please don’t be offended this is just a mere example.And islam prohibits any visualization of any of the prophets, which I think is good because it can prevent physical comparison with other people or other races. Islam prohibits visualization let alone desecration by putting a bomb as a head piece. The freedom of the press, the freedom of speech, ah yess, what powerfull words, my question is if everything on behalf of the freedom of the press or speech is always protected teeth and nail then to what limitation or to what certain extent do we draw the line, when do we say it’s gone too far, until someone insults God,maybe?! If that’s the case then the freedom of speech must be the most powerfull and most dangerous weapon in the world, cause it could (and I hope it would never happen) cause conflict and even war.

Again i’d like to emphasize that i’m not against freedom of speech, but i only fully support responsible freedom of speech based on facts and evidence, without killing or destroying peoples or groups of peoples character or reputation.
What, or how would you feel if a national newspaper portrays your father as a murderer and a rapist, or your mother as a slut and whore, which was 100% falsely accused based on nothing but mere ignorance and hatred. While the facts are your father is a hard working, honest, honourable man and your mother works at church and does charity.

How could Muhammad (SAW) steal text if he was illiterate?, God destined Muhammad to be illiterate until the finishment of his revelation for this exact reason, so the unfaithful at that moment (or now) could not accuse him of stealing text from other holy books from other religions, and also so he cannot be influenced by those books. He may have heard the stories from the christians and jews at that time, but how could he have known exactly all of the stories, such as the stories of Siti Maryam (virgin mary) and isa al masih (jesus)and all of the other prophets, without discussing or been tought by christian or jewish experts, would he have time for this for he is also a merchant.For the Quran is truely the words of God revelated through the angel jibril (gabriel). Fact : the Holy Al Quran is the only holy book of a religion which is truely authenticaly preserved as exactly the same as it was relevated, there is no man maid old or new testaments version of the holy quran. Self proclaimed? i don’t think so.., just read a little more thoroughly through his biography.

Needless to say, this evidence isñIslamically speaking - overwhelmingly strong and Muslims who deny it do so only by sacrificing their intellectual honesty, pure faith or both.
This evidence having been established, there doesn’t seem much room for debate about ‘Aishah’s age amongst believing Muslims. Until someone proves that in the Arabic language “nine years old” means something other than “nine years old”, then we should all be firm in our belief that she was “nine years old” (as if there’s a reason or need to believe otherwise!?!).

The World Socialist Web Site unequivocally condemns the publication by a series of European newspapers of defamatory cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist and killer. These crude caricatures, intended to insult and incite Muslim sensibilities, are a political provocation. Their publication, initially by a right-wing Danish newspaper with historical ties to German and Italian fascism, was calculated to fuel anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant sentiment.
The decision of the right-wing Danish government to defend the newspaper that initially published the cartoons, and of newspapers in Norway, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Iceland and Hungary, both conservative and liberal, to reprint them has nothing to do with freedom of the press or the defense of secularism. Such claims make a mockery of these democratic principles.
The promulgation of such bigoted filth is, rather, bound up with a shift by the European ruling elites to line up more squarely behind the neo-colonial interventions of US imperialism in the Middle East and Central Asia. It is no accident that it occurs in the midst of the ongoing slaughter in Iraq, new threats against the Palestinian masses, and the preparations to launch sanctions, and eventual military aggression, against Iran.
It is, moreover, a continuation and escalation of a deliberate policy in Europe, spearheaded by the political right and aided and abetted by the nominal “left” parties, to demonize the growing Muslim population, isolate it, and use it as a scapegoat for the growing social misery affecting broad layers of the working class.
In the name of the fight against terrorism, governments throughout Europe are implementing repressive measures that target, in the first instance, Muslim and other immigrant populations, while preparing the ground for the destruction of the democratic rights of the working class as a whole. These police state preparations go hand in hand with an offensive against the jobs, wages and living standards of working people and an ever-greater concentration of wealth in the coffers of a wealthy and privileged minority at the top.
One does not have to uphold Islam, or any other religion, to sympathize with the indignation of Muslims around the world who have expressed their outrage at the racist drawings flung in their face by media outlets that claim to be defending Western secularist values against the dark hordes from the East.
On Friday, protests against the publication of the cartoons spread across the Middle East, northern Africa and Asia, with thousands demonstrating in Iraq, tens of thousands in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and some 50,000 filling a square in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Muslims also protested in Britain and Turkey.
The events that have led up to the present confrontation make it clear that the publication of the cartoons was a political provocation. The Danish daily Jyllands-Posten, which first published twelve caricatures of Mohammad on September 30, supports the right-wing government headed by Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen—a government that includes in its coalition a rabidly anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim party.
In the 1920s and 1930s, Jyllands-Posten was infamous for its affinity for Italian fascism and the German Nazi dictatorship. In 1933, it argued for the introduction of a dictatorship in Denmark.
Last September, the newspaper asked forty cartoonists to draw images of the Prophet Muhammad, something that is proscribed by Islamic law as blasphemous. Spelling out the provocative and inflammatory aim of this exercise, the chief editor said its purpose was “to examine whether people would succumb to self-censorship, as we have seen in other cases when it comes to Muslim issues.”
The newspaper proceeded to publish twelve drawings. These included a cartoon showing the Prophet Muhammad wearing a turban in the shape of a smoking bomb, another with Muhammad on a cloud in heaven telling an approaching line of suicide bombers that he had run out of virgins with which to reward them, and a third depicting the prophet grinning wildly, with a knife in his hand and flanked by heavily-veiled women.
In October, Prime Minister Rasmussen refused to meet with the ambassadors of eleven predominantly Muslim countries who had requested a meeting to discuss their objections to the cartoons. Setting the tone for the ensuing developments, Rasmussen declared that the cartoons were a legitimate exercise in press freedom, and implied that there was nothing to discuss.
The affront was stepped up when a Norwegian magazine published the drawings in January. Denmark continued to ignore protests by Danish Muslim groups and other Muslim organizations until the end of January, when Saudi Arabia and Syria recalled their ambassadors from Denmark and the Saudi regime initiated a consumer boycott of Danish goods.
Only when the boycott spread and the Danish company Arla Foods, the second largest dairy producer in Europe, announced that its Middle Eastern sales had completely dried up, did the Danish government and Jyllands-Posten issue statements of regret, while defending the decision to publish the cartoons.
This week the simmering controversy exploded when the French newspaper France Soir republished the cartoons. Defending its printing of the drawings in an editorial on Thursday, the newspaper’s editor wrote: “Enough lessons from these reactionary bigots.”
Other newspapers in France, including the liberal Libération, followed suit, printing some or all of the ugly cartoons. Le Monde, for its part, ran a sketch of a man, presumably Mohammad, made up of sentences reading, “I must not draw Muhammad.”
The German newspapers Die Welt, Die Tageszeitung, Tagesspiegel and Berliner Zeitung, the Dutch papers Volksrant, NRC Handelsblad and Elsevier, Italy’s La Stampa and Corriere della Sera, Spain’s El Periodico and two Dutch-language newspapers in Belgium were among those that published some or all of the cartoons over the past several days.
In Britain, the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 all showed some of the cartoons on television news broadcasts.
An indication of the political forces and motives behind the deluge of racist caricatures was the decision of Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch parliament who has proposed a law that would ban women from wearing burqas, to post the cartoons on his web site “as a token of support to the Danish cartoonists and to stand up for free speech.”
Among those European politicians and government officials who have sprung to the defense of the Danish government and the media outlets that published the images is French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. With quintessential cynicism, the man who helped incite last year’s anti-police riots in the largely Muslim immigrant suburbs of France by referring to their inhabitants as “scum” and “gangrene” has now adopted the mantle of press freedom to support yet another attack on Muslims.
The absurd attempt to give this anti-democratic assault a democratic veneer is exemplified by Sarkozy, who authored the current state of emergency that has gutted civil liberties in France. The French government of Sarkozy and President Jacques Chirac set the precedent for such anti-Muslim attacks by imposing—with the support of the Socialist and Communist parties and the “far left” Lutte Ouvrière (Workers Struggle)—a ban on Muslim girls wearing head scarves in the public schools. This overt attack on religious freedom in general and the rights of Muslims in particular was likewise passed off as a defense of secularism and the “enlightened” values of the French Republic.
The real content of the supposed crusade for secularism and press freedom was shown in the first wave of mass deportations of French Muslims under a law championed by Sarkozy in the aftermath of last year’s riots. The law provides for the summary deportation of all foreigners who are indicted—not convicted—of crimes. Hundreds of youth were arrested by Sarkozy’s riot police during the disturbances, and these are now threatened with being shipped out of the country.
The new Grand Coalition government headed by Angela Merkel has likewise called for stronger measures to evict foreigners from German soil.
The foreign policy interests behind the anti-Muslim attack were indicated by the Netherlands’ announcement of plans to send additional troops to help police Afghanistan for US imperialism.
On Friday, the US State Department issued a statement opposing the publication of the cartoons. “These cartoons are indeed offensive to the belief of Muslims,” said a department spokesman, adding, “We fully recognize and respect freedom of the press and expression, but it must be coupled with press responsibility. Inciting religious or ethnic hatreds in this manner is not acceptable.”
This intervention is entirely hypocritical, coming from a government that has sought repeatedly to muzzle the American press and has waged a brutal attack on Muslims within the US. The Bush administration has, in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, spearheaded the assault on Muslims around the world, using the so-called “war on terrorism” as the pretext.
Washington’s “respect” for the beliefs of Muslims was exposed before the eyes of the world in the pictures of sadistic abuse of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, where military and intelligence officials employed tactics designed to exploit Muslim beliefs and sensibilities.
The official US response to the publication of the cartoons is largely motivated by immediate concerns over the impact the provocation could have on Washington’s imperialist operations in Iraq, Iran and elsewhere.
Some who defend the publication of the cartoons claim they are examples of satire—as though crude appeals to the basest and most bigoted impulses can be equated with genuine social or cultural criticism. In fact, the images plastered on the pages of European newspapers and broadcast on television news programs have far more in common with the type of anti-Semitic caricatures made infamous by the Nazis than they do with satire.
That such outpourings can have anything to do with a struggle for secularism in opposition to religious belief is absurd. A genuine critique of religion can be conducted only on the highest intellectual level, appealing to science and reason—not ignorance and fear.
The current episode reveals the enormous dangers facing the working class from the visible decomposition of democracy in all of the capitalist countries. The promotion of anti-Muslim chauvinism, and all forms of communalist and nationalist poison, is the expression of a social system that is mired in insoluble crisis and incapable of meeting the most basic needs of the broad masses of the people.
The only antidote to such backward and reactionary politics is the development of a united movement of workers of all countries, religions and nationalities in opposition to war and in defense of democratic rights against the capitalist ruling elites and the system they uphold. The program upon which such a struggle must be based is socialist internationalism.

If we really have free speech then why is world-renowned historian David Irving sitting in a prison in Vienna right now facing up to 20 years imprisonment for having a dissenting opinion on some details of the Holocaust? Why was Germar Rudolf, a Chemist Doctoral Candidate, kept from receiving his degree and now sits in a dank prison meant for terrorists with a five year sentence for simply scientifically challenging some forensics of the Holocaust? Why has a pacifist Canadian, Ernst Zundel been in prison for 3 years and now faces trial in Mannheim, Germany for expressing his conscience on an historical period now over 50 years old! When the Jyllands-Posten in Denmark ran the cartoons mocking Muhammed, the publisher maintained that their purpose was to promote freedom of speech rather than to antagonize the Muslim world. In actual fact the man behind the cartoons insulting Muhammed and the Muslim faith was none other than Flemming Rose, a Jewish extremist supporter of Israel and close friend of Neocon Jewish extremist Daniel Pipes.
The Iranian President and press argued that the Denmark paper is not really concerned with freedom of speech. He pointed out that major dailies across the western world would never allow a cartoon that questions even the smallest detail of what is today called “The Holocaust.” He also insisted that Jewish extremism would never be satirized in the paper. Immediately, the editor of the Danish Daily responded that he would prove it was truly a free speech issue by publishing some Holocaust cartoons in conjunction with the Iranian paper Hamshahrari.
Now it turns out that the Iranians were completely correct about Western free speech hypocrisy. Not only did the paper issue a statement that on no account would the paper print any cartoons questioning the Holocaust, but also canceled planned cartoons simply critical of Israel. It turns out that in Denmark someone is free to print a cartoon showing the turban of Muhammed to a bomb, but if one displays the symbol of the Jewish state, the Star of David with a fuse attached, one will be censored. Freedom of thought and speech is a cornerstone of Western values. What the cartoon controversy has really proven is that there is no true freedom of speech in the West. (more…)

In Denmark we respect all religions. But the question is do muslims also respect other religions? We all have to in the same world and therefore we all have to have respect for everyone.
