For the most part I will use this to point you to some very good 9/11 posts. First I would like to share my memories of that morning four years ago.
I was living in South Carolina at the time in a town between Columbia and Charleston. I was rooming with an older couple, helping them out in exchange for room and board. The night before I had worked the closing shift at Sears and that morning I was sleeping in. I remember laying in bed, sort of hovering between sleep and waking when Hugh knocked on my door. “You need to come see this,” I remember him saying. In fact his first couple of exchanges are the only exact quotes I can remember from that day and those that followed. I lay in bed a while longer, not really wanting to get up yet, and thinking that Hugh was just engaging in his usual habit of pointing out things he thought I would be interested in.
I knew something different was happening when he knocked on my door again. Typically he would knock or say something once, and if I didn’t show any intrest he’d leave it alone. Not that morning, “Somethings happened at one of the Twin Towers.” He hadn’t seen very much yet himself. Reluctantly I got up and made my way to the living room. News was just begining to filter in and Hugh was flipping channels trying to find out what exactly was going on. My first reaction was that some tragic accident had occured. An act of terrorism hadn’t entered my mind. We watched those early reports together. I can still recall how stunned, numb, and disbelieving I was when the second plane was seen heading for the other tower. That is the visual image which is clearest in my mind.
For the next days I sat, as I’m sure most of you did, in front of one TV or another watching the repeated replay of events, the tragic stories and the heroic ones. I remember one other thought from a short time later, part of a conversation I had with someone, I don’t even remember who it was. We were talking about remembering the day and the event. Many people were saying we need to remember 9/11. I remember thinking of one subtle distinction, one I hold on to today. More than remembering 9/11 we should Never Forget.

This is a 5 minute video memorial. No burning buildings, no rubble, no explosions, no speeches, no screeches, no Bin Laden, no bodies. Just a remembrance of some people whose lives were cut short through no fault of their own, with poignant candid snapshots from their lives, accompanied by a musical background.

I see you’re linking to Socalpundit, and I thought you might be interested in this.
Socalpundit placed a comment on my blog referring me to a post on his site. I disagreed with some of what he said, and we had an exchange in the comments that went back and forth about 3 times. Then he refused to respond further, deleted my posts, and blocked me from posting anymore comments. Since I am blocked from posting, a friend of my asked him about deleting my comments, and he lied about it. Seems to be a pretty weak showing at Socalpundit.
Since I can’t, why don’t you ask him about it?
See the whole story here and here.
